St. Bartholomew’s, Tardebigge Parish

Tardebigge is largely rural and covers an extensive area to the west reaching to the outskirts of Bromsgrove. St. Bartholomew’s was rebuilt in 1777 on the site of a former building as the family church of the Earls of Plymouth, and has no residential areas nearby. Hewell Grange, the former seat of the Plymouth family, is now
the site of a large local prison. (There is a Prison Chaplain based at the site who is not part of the Holy Trinity ministry team). Next to the church, as well as its own Church
Hall, there is a newly built Community Hall and both are extensively used. The Tardebigge Church of England First School is adjacent and has a very active relationship with the church and uses the building regularly. Many families with children at the school are members of the congregation.
